Our Mission

At Sulu, we believe that APIs are the building blocks of the modern web. A healthy API ecosystem is essential for the growth of the web and the digital economy.

We saw that many developers and companies struggle to monetize their APIs and microservices. The old-fashioned subscription system simply does not work for the modern usage-based economy. In the age of AI, where software development is exploding, consumers simply cannot afford to commit to a monthly subscription for every API they use. New AI automated software needs the flexibility to discover new services for a given task and pay only for what they use.

This makes usage-based monetization an imperative for the modern web.

However, implementing usage-based billing and payment systems is complex and time-consuming, taking time away from building great products. Even worse, it can be a barrier to entry for many developers, hindering innovation.

That’s why we built Sulu. We want to make it easy for developers and companies to monetize their APIs and microservices.
